Jodi Anne: [00:00:00] Hello! Welcome back, my beautiful earbud coven. I’m excited today to have my dear and very cute friend with me, the wizard, Tien. Neo Eamas

And I am excited because we’ve been on the podcast before, but you are always creating, you are constantly in flow and answering that creative calling, I want to say. And among the things you’ve put into the world now is a book.

Tien: Yes.

Jodi Anne: I’m so excited about it. I haven’t gotten my copy yet because you know I live under a rock.

So I need to get one because I’m excited about it. So tell me Tell me, Tien, about your book, please.

Tien: Thank you so much. , and I saw you last week, too.

Jodi Anne: I know.

Tien: I had my books on me. I always have my books on me.

Jodi Anne: I know, but we were so excited to see each other.

Tien: I know, we were happy just hugging and squishing each other.

[00:01:00] And, my book, oh my god. My book is called, 11 Steps for Your Magical Life, and for your sake, you get to see it here on video.

Jodi Anne: Oh, I love it. It’s got your artwork on the cover. I can always, like, pick your artwork.

Tien: So 11 Steps for Your Magical Life,, subtitled, Practical Real Life Wisdom of an OG Asian Trans Wizard.

Jodi Anne: Love it.

Tien: It is physically a booklet, which makes it so user friendly, and, you know, I’ve had a couple people who love it because they can just put it in their fanny pack, put it in their purse, and of course it’s a great bedside reading for, reminders. You know, daily reminders, when you open the chapter, it is created in a way, visual, I am a visual learner.

I am a [00:02:00] neurodivergent, dyslexic person,

and I am really grateful that I never ever went into that self comparing, hatred place that for some reason a lot of people end up in. For me, I never did. I was like, oh, okay, I’m just like this. I think like that.

Okay, you know, and over the years, once I only started showing up when tech became mainstream, because I didn’t understand a lot of instructions that you had to read. So about 12 years ago, I started getting tech help. And they were like, oh, just read this. I’d be like, reading it, I don’t, I don’t understand.

And then I started to realize, oh, I don’t understand instructions when they’re not accompanied by visuals. So IKEA, no problem, show me in IKEA, I can set up anything. Right? It’s visual, because I’m a visual learner. And so it’s quite cute, because I am a visual learner. I know I write in a way [00:03:00] that’s very visual, so when I set up my chapters, it’s very chronological.

The book itself has, the chapters all have an image that has symbology, colors that will activate that learning center, whether it’s the fire energy or whether it’s, heart energy or heart chakra or, you know, a communication area, it activates that when you read the book as well. So it’s not like just a mind kind of thing that’s going on.

There’s an energy that’s going on when you read the book, hence the artwork is very crucial.

Jodi Anne: With your artwork, for anyone who doesn’t know you like we know you in the Earbud coven nor follow you, art is part of your life. You’ve built, is it three decks you’ve put out now?

Tien: Yes.

Jodi Anne: So three decks that you pen yourself, you do the artwork yourself, your quote unquote muggle job is that you are an artist by trade, you’re a silversmith and an artist.

So all it makes [00:04:00] so much sense that the book itself is going to have that energetic vibe of the colors. And now Because you have a feng shui background as well, does that play into any of the themes of the book?

Tien: It does because feng shui is the , earth science of, the energetic flow. So you have your four or five basic elements on planet earth, fire, water. And for us in the Asian continent, we have fire, water, metal, earth, and wood. Most other cultures have four elements. Which is your fire, air, water, and earth.

I believe that because Asian culture is very old, and we’ve also had billions and billions of souls to live through the learnings and the teachings of earth wisdom, pagan wisdom, earth science, and [00:05:00] galactic wisdom. we fine tuned, and so the wisdom that we have Is more precise,

so we break down, the elements into five, but it’s basically all the same, all planet Earth, because it’s the same planet. A tree is a tree is a tree, whether it’s in Scotland or China or Canada. You know, the properties of feng shui is to teach you. The elemental wisdom.

So what is the wisdom of fire? What’s the wisdom of water? And it’s purely elemental. And all my work, I use the elemental wisdom, and it comes through the feng shui practice.

I can also use it in a sacred geometry practice, which is the, European based. Practice I can see it in the nordic runes. I can see it on a lot of different people’s Practices because once again, we’re all humans living on planet earth.

The elements are the same So yes, indeed. I use the elements in my booklet in terms of its color schemes and the [00:06:00] shapes

Jodi Anne: I like the way you say that because a lot of the people That we know and love in our beautiful pagan community. We all have a nuanced Look at things and I love the holistic idea of like just we’re all here on this planet together We’re talking about the same wisdom We’re just seeing it through a little bit different lens or a little bit different aspect.

I always like to think of it as It’s like a giant crystal.

Mm. And it’s

all a different facet of the same crystal, right? It’s the same amazing, beautiful thing. Just like the Norse gods are on one facet and on another facet of that crystal, you have the Greco Roman gods and on another facet of that crystal, you have the Hindu gods and then another facet like it’s it’s like this crystal disco ball thing.

Tien: Totally.

Jodi Anne: So, We can [00:07:00] find this book

on your website, which you’re going to say out loud for everyone who doesn’t read the show notes.

Tien: Ha ha, tienthewizard. com

Jodi Anne: And how did this come to you? Because I want to hear the story behind the book.

Tien: The book, honestly, thank you. It was such a great experience because I probably have about six different kind of drafts.

On my laptop and it’s been going for about 10 years. and it’s like 3 magical steps and like 10 magical steps and then I’ll write and then I get bored and I put it aside. And I am not the forceful kind of creative type. Over the years I’ve really practiced listening to my higher self, listening to my guides, listening to my heart.

When I create anything, and I make anything, and or live my life, it’s all guided. So I don’t do things the same way as a writer, like I was talking to a writer who went to, who was so like, [00:08:00] blown away with my process. As I said, it’s all intuitive, and I just go with the flow cause I trust. Whereas in a lot of creative writing classes, there’s like a timeline and an end date and like all of that which really for which kind of restricts the flow of the creative process.

I’ve had all these different versions and this summer was so awesome because I met this wonderful , queer person and, I was sitting next to them and they had a little play booklet, like a foldy kind of origami kind of booklet y thing and I was like, Oh, this is so awesome fun. And, and so we were chatting and I said, Oh, maybe it’s time to write a little booklet because why not?

I have another book in the works right now that’s going through editing, publishing formal kind of format. But I went, let’s just make a little one that I can just print at a printer. Really fast and easy. Don’t need to edit like big publisher deal because that, as I know now, is taking so [00:09:00] long. So, whatever.

Let’s just do it myself. And because I have my own booth. As a maker, as a vendor at events and markets. I have my own following. People all want some little bit of wisdom. They want something new to purchase. when they meet me, so it’s like, I already have people who will readily purchase. So that’s not a problem.

So I had all the kind of like. The practicalities all in place, because I knew, oh, it’s starting to come, something’s going to happen. And the same with all my decks of cards, right? Something starts to show up.

So, with the book, like there would be a little wisdom that would come through, and I’d be like, oh, that’s really awesome.

I’d take note of it, and I’d write it in my booklet, in my phone, and then I’d just carry on my way. Right? Knowing that something will happen. And so little bits more wisdom came, little bit more wisdom came over the summer. And then, by the time August came around, I was like, Oh, I think you’ve got a bunch of notes here that could [00:10:00] make a short little booklet.

So I did the due diligence, checked out with the printer, Okay, I want this, this size. He gave me the format to do it at. And I was like, Great. So that was all set up. And then I booked out in Airbnb for three nights. And that was it. That was it. I went there, and the first night I was at the spa, so I just chilled, and then the next morning, boom, I just started.

And it was very, very, it was channeled guidance, as I knew that, so I set my intention, I had my prayer, I had, my rocks and my candles out, and I talked to my guides. I said, okay, time to come in and take over. I’m your vessel. And then the words just flowed and for two straight days, I just wrote and wrote and wrote and while I was writing it, I had to tweak and do my, couldn’t a little artwork as well, which gave me a visual break.

Because writing, writing, writing is not really my forte. I’m not really a writer. [00:11:00] I don’t even read, you know, so yeah, so I’m a writer in terms of channeled writings and it is the language and the words and the style of Tian the human, but it isn’t my Creative expression. I only write things when I’m guided to write things and it stuns people because they’re like you write really well I’d be like, yeah, and it’s not my thing.

It’s not like my passion. I love to make things I love building furniture. I love making jewelry. I love you know, whatever but writing it just comes through me and I enjoy it.

Jodi Anne: I love writing I if I don’t write I will I don’t I don’t know if i’ll implode or explode. I don’t know , I always have a writing project on the go.

I have never had the courage that you have to actually put it out in the world. I have had secret Instagram accounts that are only poetry. I have, yeah, and certain beautiful people have [00:12:00] found them. , and I love it. And I know that, I know that when I talk, based on the reaction of people who listen to me, I know I talk like a writer.

Because I could visually see things in my head. Like in my head, it’s like a movie set all the time. And I have enough command of the spoken word. To to paint those pictures for people

Tien: beautiful.

Jodi Anne: I struggle with the written word because I do mix things up I do . So that just means I need a good editor.

So it’s so interesting to hear your process because I wake up and on my days off My favorite thing is to spend the first cup of coffee writing

Because I’m a writer, and when I have a lot of things to process, I call it, I just vomit onto a page. I need to emotionally vomit with a pen and a piece of paper, and I will sometimes do it into my [00:13:00] phone, because I like the quickness of dictating. Yes. But even like the, everything about it, like the scratch of a pen, like if it’s not the right kind of pen, it,

Tien: yeah.

That’s fascinating, fascinating because you’re, what you’re sharing is the tactileness of what is normally seen as an academic world, right?

Jodi Anne: on no it’s very tactile.

Tien: Writing, yeah, but the world of writing is owned, is like a very academic domain, so people always assume. You know, when you are a writer, you’re in that world of like intelligence and, and, and, and doctorates and all of that.

Right. So,

Jodi Anne: oh, that’s gatekeeping baby. That’s the gatekeeping that keeps all of us small. Right. It’s our job to challenge.

Tien: Totally. So, so we get to express and however we do when we write. Right. So it’s, it’s [00:14:00] great because we don’t, we’re not restricted by the rules. Right. We just write because we’re called to write.

So for me, when I write, it is about wisdom.

Jodi Anne: I will be honest, I do restrict myself. I will honestly say I am a chicken. I have not had the courage to put it into the world the way you have. I have unfinished projects that should go to an editor. But again, if it was the right time, I wouldn’t be able to sit on it.

Tien: You’re the only one who knows, right?

Yeah, yeah.

Jodi Anne: You channeled the book. So, would you say, and I’m going to say this because I know this story, and in the Earbud Coven if you haven’t heard it, go back and listen to the last episode with Tien about his beautiful deck. Because that was a channeled work as well.

Tien: Yes.

Jodi Anne: Would you say it’s like a [00:15:00] parallel like a similar process?

Tien: Absolutely.

Absolutely similar process. And it’s a really beautiful reminder to get ourselves out of the way. So likened to all my decks it was simply, I knew something was coming. That was it. Just like with the book. I knew something’s coming.

I had had enough hits of images for the deck and for the book. The wisdom, the lessons, right?, the chapter called acceptance or the chapter called smell the flowers or smell the stink, you know, they, had enough of the wisdom already coming through. So, I knew that there was information that wanted to come out and then at some point, because I live very listening to guidance, as a very self creative person.

human being or self created soul in a human being body on a planet that doesn’t quite understand our breed at this point, the breed. [00:16:00] And if you know me more, you would know why as a pioneer on this planet. So, um, I am used to creating my own life. And I don’t listen to a lot of all the rules and restrictions because none of them ever worked for me and all of them Disacknowledged and hated the systems on this planet.

So because of that, I’ve had to grow and listen to my own guidance, my own higher guidance. So I’m very good at that. , because of that, then when the information came for the book. It was very clear. You had no idea what it was going to look like. Honestly, I had no idea. And then little hits like, Oh, I’ll be really great.

It won my deck of cards. The artwork can go in there and went, Oh yeah, yeah, that’s fun. Okay, cool. So number one is to really trust that, there is information that wants to come out and the higher guidance will bring us through that’s number one, the trust, and I think the number two part [00:17:00] or more importantly, It’s to actually let go of how you think it should go.

Jodi Anne: That’s that is key.

Tien: Yeah,

Jodi Anne: I had a question to ask you and I think this is a better rabbit hole.

because I watch this with my students and I’m sure you see it as well in the younger generations of little baby pagans and little baby spirits who are living authentically and doing their best live who they are as a human. On this planet. How do you get out of the way? Because we get in our own way all the time.

Tien: absolutely

Jodi Anne: Part of that I find is we either attach to the outcome Or we attach to what we think the process should look like. So I want to hear from you, how do you detach from that? What are some of the ways, because I know you’re good at giving good practical wizard [00:18:00] advice.

Tien: Mm hmm.

Jodi Anne: So how can a new person on this path, who’s struggling their most to trust in what they’re getting, how do they know if they’re attached to the outcome? How do they know? If they’re attaching to what it should look like, instead of allowing the beauty that is waiting for them.

Tien: Great question.

How do we know?

I’ll backtrack one little bit to give context.

Jodi Anne: Yes, please.

Tien: So that we get very clear what life actually is about.

This has been told by many people and how I tell it is how I tell it, but it’s very similar because it’s all the same. Wisdom I talk about is not anything new it just comes through this , unique experience of being the first Asian trans man to come out in Vancouver. B. C. , and racialized and all of that, [00:19:00] right?

So I have a very unique experience, , that has a lot of this wisdom come through. Number one, we are soul in a human body. Many of us have heard that, but we don’t really understand what that means. But if we can look at life. Yes, I am a soul, and we thought, at some point, life on Earth would be such an interesting ride.

Let’s just say. We thought, oh, what a curious planet. Look at the fun animals, and look at these human beings. They seem to have so much fun on this planet. They eat things, there’s so many fun things to do, they seem to squish their bodies together and have a great time. They love, you know, eating things, they love planting things, they build things.

And what a beautiful planet, with all the elements, the trees, the water, the music, the art, the animals, all of them. And then the soul said, sure, let’s come down for a ride, it’ll be a fun little vacation to come for however many years. Until I feel like going back home. I’ll just come and hang out [00:20:00] and experience it.

And at the same time, part of our soul says, we noticed some of the suffering on the planet. And then we go, oh, maybe I can be a little bit useful too, while I’m visiting this planet. Drop a little nuggets here and there, and maybe, you know, that will help some people too, right? And then the soul comes down and says, okay, I’m going to have a good time.

And then we come to the human existence and then we get born and for the first little bit we’re like ridiculously silly and connected to our souls and we’re happy and playful and we trust everything. We’re amazing creators. We think we’re the best musicians in the world. We’ll pull out a little wooden toy piano and plunk around stupid shit and then we’ll laugh because we think it’s the best thing in the world that we made.

And then at some point, you know, we start listening to the Homo sapien brain that we all picked. To come into the one thing that we need to understand as souls in human body, and I talk about this in my book. Hence, you want to get my book [00:21:00] is that our souls came to occupy the mammal body called homo sapien.

We did not occupy. The body of a ladybug, of a lizard, of a spider, or a quail. No! We’re occupying this breed that’s a mammal called Homo sapien. And the Homo sapien has a very specific set of traits that allows it to live and survive and breed and pretty much just live. We have to understand this Homo sapien body that we live in, and the biggest, the hardest time and the thing that causes the most suffering in most human beings is that they think they are stuck in a Homo sapien existence.

And that the way they think about life is the only way to think about life that comes from survival and fear, because [00:22:00] they forget that we are actually soul. And we happen to be driving this car. On this amazing planet called Homo Sapien. We forgot. Not the car. I’m just the driver of the car. And it behaves a certain way.

So once we start to really understand our humanity, we have to understand our humanity and all the things it does and the silly things and the wonderful things and the stupid shit that we do. And we do a lot of that. Oh, we do so much stupid shit, but most of the time, humans are hating the fact that we do stupid shit.

That’s the secret that comes in. So my monk, I have a monk guide who my channel, who’s probably 1700s, Buddhist. He, And I say he, it’s simply the energy of the being. , he’s very clear, hence I have a strong, strong foundation [00:23:00] in Buddhism, and I use it as a very big teacher. , one of the biggest lessons, which is chapter 8, I believe, in my book, called Maitri.

It is a Buddhist philosophy. Which is about loving your good, your bad, your ugly, and your pretty. And that is Enlightenment. Because you no longer stop, you no longer hating all your silly things. You can love it, and when you love it so much, you’re no longer resisting. You know? You’re no longer resisting the fact that, Oh, I have a face that’s kind of like, really big nose, or you know?

Or my arm doesn’t work, or I think silly things about myself. Oh, you go, oh my god, ah, that’s so funny, I’m thinking stupid things about myself. And, or, I’m thinking stupid shit about you. That’s Tien’s humanity. You wouldn’t know because you think Tien is so awesome. No, Tien the human is an asshole. The things I think about people is horrible.

I am a judgmental, [00:24:00] judgmental human being. But that’s my homo sapien. And I lived that human being life for decades, and I suffered because I was always the victim. A victim of being racialized, of being queer, of being trans, of being abused, da da da da da. And as a reason of experiencing all that violence and hatred, I hated everybody.

Yeah, so I went around hating everybody. You were a perfect example of somebody I would hate, honey, because you’re a pretty, white, straight, cis girl.

Jodi Anne: And I’m educated, and I have cash.

Tien: Educated, you’re middle class, you’ve got family.

Jodi Anne: I am the worst.

Tien: Blah, blah, blah, you’re good looking. I hated you. You know, that’s my humanity.

But because I know and own the fact that Tien’s humanity is a jerk, and that anytime he meets somebody, he’s gonna hate them. But I own it. I go, Oh, right. That’s Tien’s homo sapien. And then I soften and I go, That’s so goofy. You’re such [00:25:00] an idiot. And I laugh. I don’t bother changing it. I don’t bother trying to transform it, trying to fix it.

Nothing. Laughter is the high, high vibration. The moment you’re filled with hatred at somebody, at yourself, you’d be willing to laugh and go, Oh my God, I think such silly things about myself. And then you laugh. And then suddenly, boom, you’re back in light.

Jodi Anne: Well, and I think that’s a trick to magic, because you and I do a lot of magic.

Like, the lives we live is because we live magical lives.

Tien: Yes.

Jodi Anne: And one of the secrets is, like, sure, you can conjure up some curses out of some hate. That’s easy work. Yeah. But real good magic, comes from giggling and happiness and you can create from the essence of happiness.

Tien: Yes.

Jodi Anne: And I know one of the things you and I have talked about, because we both have little [00:26:00] mental health things we deal with on a daily basis with our little monkey brains, is if I’m going to have a bad day, I’m going to have the best bad day I’m ever going to have.

I’m the most joyful, goofy ass person you ever met.

because you know what? You don’t have to be in a good mood, but you don’t have to be an asshole to the barista, just as you’re having a bad day.

Tien: Excellent.

Jodi Anne: So you can have a good grumpy day.

Tien: Oh, so fun.

Jodi Anne: Right. And just embrace the fact that, you know what, there is nothing that can go right today that can make me embrace the joy of today.

Tien: Yes.

Jodi Anne: And then you can just completely flip it and you’re like, you know what? I hate everything today.

Tien: And it’s gonna be a grumpy old fart. Yep. It’s so fun.

Jodi Anne: Really take control of the fact that we don’t have to always be positive, you do not have to spiritually [00:27:00] bypass.

We can embrace the humanity. I’ve been looking at and working on and emotionally vomiting into my journals about is the fact that if I was supposed to be an angel or a light being, or a guru in spirit, this incarnation, I would have I am in this human body in this human. experience because this is where I’m supposed to be.

I don’t, you know what I mean? Like, I know a lot of spiritual people who are struggling to be better than human.

Tien: I know.

Jodi Anne: And I find that

Tien: So sad.

Jodi Anne: Right?

Tien: So sad and so irritating. I’m so sorry.

Jodi Anne: But I came here to learn from being human.

Tien: You are an angel

and you’re human.

Jodi Anne: Yes, [00:28:00] exactly

Tien: and that’s the duality. That’s the beautiful balance of the yin and the yang, the beautiful balance of the Visika Pisces, you write the sacred geometry symbol, it’s about living. How do you live a life as source, as soul, as higher being in a human body? And that’s all it is, because you are, you just are, and then sometimes you’ll just be an asshole, or you’ll just be grumpy.

It’s fine.

So to answer that question. That was the preface.

How do you get ego? Or rather, how do you get yourself out of the way? For example, for writing a book or something. Because we talked about a very important thing was to let go of your attachments to the outcome. When you’re creating something or when you’re writing a book.

How do we do that? We want to start by listening, Really having a good listening of our internal self. Yeah, so we have an internal guidance [00:29:00] system. It’s very simple It’s got only two emotional fields and one feels good and one feels bad What i’m taking this wisdom from abraham hicks who was channeled through the wonderful channel, ester hicks Brilliant wisdom, but it continues to teach me.

If that thought you’re thinking doesn’t feel good, then you know that’s off. And we’re not talking about an immediate thought, like, if you’re not feeling good, you’re not happy, someone dear to you just died.

Yeah? And you’re feeling that immense grief. Absolutely. Honor it. We’re not talking about thoughts and feelings like that. We’re talking about perpetual, habitual thoughts. Not based on reality.

Jodi Anne: Okay, I think we need more detail about that.

Tien: Yes,

that’s where most people live in. I talk about that in my book as well.

Okay. Most people are not being present and not being mindful. They live their life as though their thoughts [00:30:00] is real. And that’s, that’s their reality. But really what they’re doing is sitting there eating a croissant with a cup of tea. But suddenly they’re thinking about something and then they suddenly got angry.

When really you’re just sitting here having a cup of tea, enjoying a croissant. Why are you thinking stupid shit? It’s not happening.

Jodi Anne: Right. So we’re talking about the kind of thoughts like, I’m going to make something ridiculous up, but like, no one will ever love me because I have bunions.

Tien: Yeah, that’s so good.

It’s not ridiculous. It’s been thought of.

Jodi Anne: Exactly. And I know there are women eating croissants. Thinking that

Tien: thinking that right now

so that’s a great access at any moment we can start to, we can start to fine tune the way we think and know that we have complete say about how we think, because how you’re thinking when you’re eating that croissant and having that cup of tea is just thoughts.

If we learn to be present and go, Oh, [00:31:00] I love this cup of tea and I love this croissant. It’s so good. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum and be present, enjoying what you’re eating, you get to practice being present. And the more present you are, the less you pay attention to thoughts in your head that are useless and take you down that are diminishing and hateful of yourself and others.

Then start to know those thoughts isn’t real. I’m just having my cup of tea.

Jodi Anne: This brings me around to the idea that it’s all the same wisdom, right? So, because I practice stuff like that, like I have intrusive thoughts that are not friendly. I have a practice where I don’t suppress it.

But I go, Oh, there’s that thought, that’s that thought. Anxiety. You’re at the table with me having tea. Why don’t we focus on what this tea tastes like?

Tien: Yes, exactly.

Jodi Anne: I will try to get grounded in my body and get into that somatic experience of like the tea in my mouth, the smell of the [00:32:00] delicious croissant.

What color is the sky right now to try to bring me back?

Tien: Exactly. And what a human being loves to do once you start becoming aware of that. We then start to make our thoughts wrong and start to judge ourselves for having stupid thoughts. Once again, we come back to the same basic practice, which is, Hello, you’re a human being.

You will always be thinking stupid thoughts until you die. Yep. So we want to go, Oh, hello, funny thought. Ha ha. That’s a funny thought. And you laugh. And then you go back to drinking your tea.

Jodi Anne: So applying that to, the bunions on my feet make it impossible for me to write my book.

Tien: Exactly. And you go, oh, that’s a funny thought. Okay. And then you go, do I really want to write your book? Hell yeah. Write your book.

Jodi Anne: And then you tune into that Abraham Hicks thing, how do I really feel in my soul about writing a book? Yeah. Is it something that I really want to do in my soul?

Tien: [00:33:00] Yeah.

And then you take one step at a time. People have such huge, ridiculous goals and they forget it’s one step at a time. Right? So, okay, great. If you are feeling a little bit, wary or, or diminishing or something about the whole project, that’s fine. Just write one page today. That’s fine. Just draw the corners.

You know, just put that thing in that pan and make the station really pretty. Whatever it is, start the process. Don’t get stuck in your thoughts about it. Because the thoughts are just your thoughts. It’s not real. It’s just your thoughts. It’s just electrical signals firing in your brain. They’re just neurons activating.

It’s not real. When you look, when we cut open the head and we look at the brain, Where is the thought my bunions on my feet is making me unlovable. Where’s that thought? It doesn’t exist. It’s just sparkly, sparkly [00:34:00] electrical signals, and then we interpret it and gave it meaning. That’s the, that’s the neuroscience around brain and how it thinks, but then it absolutely impacts how the world turns out because we live in a quantum physics world where whatever you think and whatever you feel will start to manifest.

That’s right. So if you are, if one is holding themselves back from beginning or continuing that creative process, whatever it is, with all sorts of thoughts, you simply go, Oh, I’m having thoughts. Oh, okay. And you write them down. It’s fine. It’s not real. Just be very clear and be fully responsible. These are Tien’s thoughts about writing.

And you write them down. Okay, I have 20 different thoughts about writing. Or maybe it’s just three. Because every time you think the same thing, honestly. You think the same thing over and over. It’s the

same. It’s the same. It’s

all the same loop. It’s the same. And I’ll tell my coaching clients. Oh my god, your story is so boring.

Jodi Anne: Yeah. It’s just [00:35:00] your bunions again. Here we are again.

Tien: Oh my god. Tell me a different story. This movie is the most boring movie in the world. I came to watch a fun movie. You came to watch a fun movie. Don’t you want to leave your bunion movie by now? You’ve watched it 10 years. Stop it. And it’s up to us.

Because why? You gotta be so committed to having a great vacation on planet earth. You do. Because if it’s not a fun ride, do something else. Seriously, do something else.

Jodi Anne: I think this is great. I like this conversation because you know what else I want to say? Yes. Because we’ve talked about how we’re both pretty flawed humans and you shared some of your own flaws, right?

I love it because anyone listening, if I can have a podcast and I can do all the things I do and Tien can produce three decks and a book. Yes. So can you, whatever the people in the earbuds have burning inside their [00:36:00] soul that they want to do. I mean, we’re just humans in bodies. We can do it. So can you?

Tien: We can do whatever, you know, as long as you want to do it, just do it. Yes,

Jodi Anne: we give you permission.

Tien: Yeah, totally. It’s fun. Number one. It’s got to be enjoyable. You want to do it because it’s enjoyable, not because there’s an in order to achieve anything. No, no, no. You do it because it’s fun. Enjoyable.

You’re passionate. It’s intriguing. It’s fascinating. It’s silly. It’s ridiculous. All of that. That’s why you do it. Not because it will get me money, make me famous, make me pretty, make me better, make someone fall in love. No, no, no. That’s inauthentic. That’s an in order to.

Rather than, why do you want to ride that bike? Because it’s fun. That’s it. Why do you want to ride the book? Well, I think it’d be fun. Why not? Mm hmm. And you can always change your mind. Yep. Free will. [00:37:00] Free will.

Jodi Anne: Uh, babe, I love chatting with you. We have lots for

Tien: Didn’t even really talk about, but we did. We did talk about a couple chapters that are crucial for us and it’s a fantastic book because it covers some basics from faith to acceptance. You know, to some good, , Buddhism, practice, and then it brings you to your guides and ancestors and spells and rituals.

Jodi Anne: So, there’s spells and rituals in there too?

Tien: You know, honestly, it was supposed to be 10 steps, and then the night before I left, The whole chapter around the spells came coming through just as I was falling asleep, and I went, Damn it!

Jodi Anne: But that makes the 11, which is a magical number.

Tien: That makes it the 11, which is the magical number, and it was absolutely, because it’s called The Magical Life, I had to cover a little bit about spells and rituals.

Jodi Anne: I love your spells. I love doing your spells.

Tien: My spells are awesome.

Are you still putting out your spells in a box?

Yeah, I have, I fine tuned my spells.

I used to have 18. Finally, it was time. I now have eight. It’s [00:38:00] brilliant.

Jodi Anne: Oh, that’s perfect.

I love using your spells because sometimes I’m a lazy witch and I want to have the work done for me.

Tien: Exactly why you buy my spells.

Jodi Anne: Lovey. I love chatting with you. I’m going to let you go back to your day. Bye.

Tien: Very good. Thank you. I love you. And, uh, yeah, my book, Eleven Steps to a Magical Life, you can find it on my website, tnthewizard. com.

Awesome. Okay.

Jodi Anne: I love you.

Tien: Love you, honey. Thank you. That was fun.

Jodi Anne: Hey, that’s the end of the show.
