EP 72: Tarot Talk on the Sun Card

Hello my beautiful coven, today’s episode is all about the 19th card of the high arcana The Sun Card.

When I do a tarot episode on the podcast I also include a you tube video so that you can see the some of the cards form my collection of decks. I find love the art work a feel like it looking at the cards can help us learn about them.

I approach my study of the tarot by looking at the cards in sets of seven.

If you have been in the ear bud coven for a bit then You will have heard me talk about the sets of seven already. So I won’t go too deep into that today …you can just go back to past episodes on tarot and learn about the sets. All you really need to know is that as we move from the Fool to the World card the vibration of each card gets higher.

Because of this the last set of cards in the high arcana have an more of an abstract theme to them.

The main theme of the Sun card is Blessings

It is warm and vibrant and full of promise

There are 2 main ways that the message of the sun card is illustrated. One based on the Tarot de Merciless  and the other is based on Rider Waite Smith deck.

Because so many contemporary decks depict the happy baby from the RWS deck many people read the blessings of the Sun card as a fertility card. And on some occasions it does foretell a child coming into the world.

But the bright energy of the Sun card can tell us so much more.  Remember this is the 19th card of the tarot, it is less literal and more archetypical vibration to it

The blessing of the sun card can manifest in our lives in a less direct way because of its high vibration. It is always about blessing that are coming to you. The brilliant sunny energy of this card will soften any “harsh” cards it appears in a spread with.

When we look at the high arcana as a teacher, starting as the fool and progressing through the lessons of each card, the Sun Card can feel like the blessings of the long and winding journey you have taken to reach the Sun. All the wisdom that you gained on the path through the tarot are now manifested in your life. The knowledge you have gained, the insight into who you are, and the wisdom you have received are all present in the Sun card.

The Energy if the Sun card can feel a lot like the energy of the Solar plexus chakra. It has a feel to it of understanding and embracing your divinity. Standing it the brilliance of who you are. Basking in the beautiful vibrant rays of understanding. Connecting to divinity and the wisdom of God consciousness.

So when we are reading this card in a spread for our clients (or ourselves) we will want to consider how it is effecting the other cards around it.

What blessing is it bringing to the reading?

The sun card can be the good omen that your client is needing, letting them know that the trials they have been experiencing are coming to a close.

In every spread it appears in it will bring the hopeful rays of summer sun. Some ease and the promise of goodness.
