On today’s episode I am happy to be introducing you to
Heather Woodruff

I wanted everyone in the earbud coven to meet her because her work is so inline with how I look at the world. She brings wholistic and ancestral wisdom to your table. She looks at food as medicine. And knowns that on e of the keys to healing is to build a relationship with our body, honoring its wisdom and tuning into it.
Heather is a Gut Guru…. a Certified Nutritional Practitioner and Certified GAPS™ Practitioner
She looks at nutrition through a wholistic lens. Her work connects women to their bodies and facilitates healing on all levels, Body, Mind and Soul.
Wondering what G.A.P.S. certification means, it stands for
“Gut and Psychology Syndrome”

- bi-polar syndroms
- autistic spectrum
- ADHD
- anxiety

Our belly and our brains are connected, fight / flight/ freeze effects our digestion, it supresses it. Part of healing our body is letting it know that it is safe so that it can do the regenerative work it knows how to do.
Heather’s approach is focused on connecting her clients (she often refers to then as her Ladies) to their bodies. Really tuning in and listening to what out bodies are saying to us. The re-frame is to look at our symptoms as communication, a message to be tunes into. Then to tune into our bodies. Connect with them and feed them the nutrition they need in the form of wholistic foods.
When we learn how to tune into our digestion and what our gut is saying to us, we can use it as a guidepost in our lives. It can be difficult to know what your gut is saying when it is inflamed and twisted up.
Then she adds in the nutrition and knowledge that you need.
Like many of us Heather came to her life path and calling through her healing journey Heathers Journey, she had suffered with eczema, chronic tonsillitis and digestive issues most of her life. She was unwell but all the tests she took kept coming back as “normal”
When she started seeing a naturopath the idea of food as medicine changed her life.
She read a book called Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon – (grab it here with this link)
Reading this book was like a “remembering” for Heather.
It changed her path, not only was it a key to healing her body, it sparked the flame that would become her new career in the field of nutrition.
Helping women to heal their stubbornly inflamed bellies using the medicinal foods of our great grandmothers, so they can live their lives unrestrained and full of purpose.
You can start here … with Heather’s simple morning rituals to Gut Health and Healing. She’s a realist like you and me, these are made to easily fir into your life. If we had 2 hours to meditate we probably wouldn’t have inflamed bellies.
