What a way to start season 3 we have Reverend Terrie Brookins with us today.

She is a 2nd-degree Priestess of the Correllian Tradition, the magic behind Beaux Magique and The Priestess You Need. Yep, you read that correctly she will tell you the truth, work with you on the hard stuff and generously shares her wisdom in every conversation.

Our conversation is full of wisdom and laughter it is a bit winding and spiral-ley… there was no chance in editing it down to anything close to a Half Hour… or so. Which means dear coven; you get 2 episodes of Rev Terrie !

We start off talking about candle magic

You may not think you have any experience with candle magic, but we all do candle magic, it is so much a part of our culture that we don’t even notice it.

All of us are raised doing candle magic. We don’t recognize it as magic until we re-look at the practice but birthday candles are a form of candle magic.

We light them up. Have a ritual that includes a small song…. close our eyes connecting to our wish…. and blow out the candle.

Wishing on stars is a form of candle magic too.

Candle magic seems simple but is so very effective, maybe that is why it’s woven into the fabric of our world. It combines all that is life to manifest our wishes into reality.

The 4 elements are present when we work with candles.

Fire is present on the wick
Earth is the body of the candle
Our air is the breath,
the wisdom of water to extinguish knowing we can make the magic again.

The most important part of candle magic and the rule we must always remember is….

We cannot stress this enough. No spell or outcome is worth your life. We need to burn our candles safely

Everything is Sacred

the macrocosm, the microcosm, the connected-ness of all the things

We can put on our shamanic (or Priestess) glasses and look through the lenses and see the interconnections. It’s marvellous and beautiful and can make you go a bit crazy. There is a definite balancing act we need to. We need to digest and process, we need help to do this. Terrie mention’s her Priestess and how we all need one.

We need mentors and trusted teachers to help us, all of us do no matter what our role is. Those of us who lead and serve our community need our elders as much as those of us new to the path. Understanding the interconnectedness of the world is really quite a bit for our human minds to comprehend. Understanding can drive you crazy. We need each other to process and talk about what we are experiencing

As we talk we wind our way to the story of how Beaux Magic came to be what it is today.

Starting from a batch of Florida Water she offered for sale at a the first pagan pride event she attended.

No surprise the few bottles she had quickly found homes.

By the end of the day, Reverend Terrie secured an order for her Florida water at a store. The Florida water bloomed into anointing oils, and the business grew. Things that she could put into use would just sort of come to Terrie. Beloved products can hardly stay of shelves before, my friend is often busy making and filling back orders.

It’s part of her calling.

Because that’s what happens when you listen to your guides you get called to do more than what you believe is possible for you. The abundance comes to you as a result of you following the calling. You just keep saying ok… and spirit adds the extra.

On this topic, we fall into another rabbit hole of wisdom. The idea that we are never feel ready for what we are being called to do, but it ok because it works out. Our guides and patron Goddesses call us up and then work with us, helping us expand into the next version of ourselves.

Terrie shares a beautiful perspective of why women have always gathered under the full moon, and it’s not what you’d think.I love her when she connects the practical aspect of living with the traditions we have grown to just accept a they are.

We talk about merging modern life with ancient tradition. Moving our practice into the 21st century with immersion blenders and our cauldrons. We laugh through it but there is a lesson behind it all. Why make things harder for yourself? Why not use the modern tools we have?

That really is the wisdom being dropped as we giggle and have fun together.

Once you understand that you are the tool, you need nothing more than your will.

You are the magic you do.

Magic is not a separate and compartmentalized from the rest of your life. You are magic my dear ear bud sister. You are the light the sun and the stars.

We get personal and deep chatting about what is surfacing in our lives, you really get to feel like you are having coffee beside us.

Both of us have moments of sharing and processing

I felt it was important to share this part of our conversation with you, Terrie is so open about her recent astrology reading and how when is being called up…doing her own hard work associated with her Chiron return. We hear her processing the title of “Alchemist.” I feel it’s a beautiful example for you to see that the people we learn form … who have been on this path for decades, have the same hesitations when we are growing. Everyone struggles with seeing how brilliant they shine.

I have a moment where Terrie completely blows my mind and you get to hear me process in real time. As I edit this episode for you it is clear to me that I will be expanding some of my magical practises around blending the ancient and the modern even more.

I also want to acknowledge how beautiful a teacher Terrie is, she let me take it all in process with her out loud in our conversation more than a few times.
