It’s been a minute since I’ve done a Tarot episode so I put one together for you all
Pop in your earbuds, and learn about the energy of the aces. They hold so much potential, they are like lights of hope in the darkness, and the mark of a new beginning.
A fresh start is coming for your client when an ace is on the table. We can look at the element that each suit represents to find out the area of life the ace applies to
Cups – water – the realm of emotions and creativity
Wands – fire – our willpower and ambition
Swords – air – our thoughts and the realm of the mind
Pentacles – earth – the material realm and our relationship to it
(If you want to know more about elemental correspondences, I did a series on them that is in the archive. Earth, air, water, fire)
So, when your client pulls an ace of pentacles that means they are entering into a new phase in regard to earthly things. But what does that actually mean?
Well it could manifest as :
- a new job, or new source of income
- renewed relationship to abundance or wealth
- feeling connected to your physical body in a new way
- redefining your relationship to pleasure
- becoming more present and embodied in your life
You will know what style of change the ace is bringing by the other cards around it in the spread.
How we lay out our cards is a big part of understanding the messages they are giving us. I do feel like the importance of working with card spreads has fallen “out of fashion” and it is unfortunate. The style these days is to pull a single card and get incite from it. I was taught to use spreads so that you can get clear and practice information that can be applied to your life
We also tend to ignore or down play the lower arcana cards of the tarot, they are not quite as flashy or high vibe-ing as the high arcana. But they are the day to day bread and butter of being human.
We can’t spend all day in the big dramatic energies of the high arcana.
I feel that the beautiful parts of being human are the small moments and the random Tuesday evenings we spend with people that we love. Not the big lightning bolt moments… they are too intense to live in all the time. And the lower arcana represents those smaller moments of our lives.
As we work with and study the tarot we can learn so much about humanity, maybe that’s why these cards have been a divination tool for hundreds of years. They teach us about ourselves as we work with them.
As always I hope this episode helps you with your clients and your readings.
