Cindy and I start our conversation with healing and reiki. Reiki is the basis of Cindy’s healing work.  We have spent time together at many psychic events and I absolutely love watching Cindy do her work. She channels healing energy and messages from spirit without ego. Her purpose and intention is to be of service when is moving the energy.

Cindy explains how one of the reasons she is able to really get her ego out of the way is the gratitude she feels for having the opportunity to work with spirit in her life. You can feel the infectious joy of Cindy’s energy.

For her, it started when she was young, feeling an attraction to the “dark themes” of television. The way we see the metaphysical world portrayed in our movies. How mind-blowing it was when it was revealed to her how spirit moves in the real world.  How wonderful it is that we can work with the unseen realms.

We talk about how we both practice our gifts in our day-to-day. Cindy’s story of how she practices psychometry at work reminds me of how I used to practice aura reading on the bus when I was first learning how to open my 3rd eye.

Cindy has started working with a paranormal team, so I bluntly ask her all about it.

She shares a story about seeing a ghost as a child and how her fascination with the dearly departed and the paranormal aspects of spirituality grew.  Now she is going on investigations with a team and using her skills as a medium in that work.

There was an investigation where they spend a night in what is called one of the most “haunted houses” in the lower mainland, The Billy Bishop Legion. She went in cold and as a medium, her role on the team is to verify the energies that the paranormal instruments pick up.

We unpack the difference between doing mediumship for our clients, both personal reading and podium work to an audience, and compare it to working in a haunted space. Many readers do work with dearly departed ones in a reading setting, but very few work with spiritual energy in the context of a haunting….. Cindy does both.

Cindy introduces the idea of vestment or haunted places can sometimes be the residual energy and give the example of a pub.

If someone has stopped at the same location every day on their way home from work. When they pass it is likely their essence can be felt at their favorite place. It’s as if their energy has imprinted onto the physical like an energy stamp.

We end our conversation discussing the things we love about teaching and the different modalities we are still interested in and want to explore
