EP 23: Autumn and Ancestors

Today’s episode is a holiday episode focusing on the turning of the wheel from harvest celebrations through Samhain and into the season of winter and death. I know that this is dropping on the new moon after Halloween, so I hope you are not tired of the topic. With all that is happening in astrology this October, it has felt to me like this whole turn of the wheel from fall to winter would have a big sort of energy that flowed into the first weeks of November. 

This time of year is full of rituals and rites, many cultures have celebrations that honour their ancestors or that tune into the changing of the seasons. My favourite holiday of all is Halloween… I celebrate it as well as the more traditional British/ Celtic Witches Samhain, I mesh them together and we celebrate them sort of at the same time. My family loves Halloween so we do the whole traditional spooky trick or treat, pumpkin carving and spooky movies. Alongside family fun, I adjust my alter and work on my personal Samhain ritual. 

We are into the season of quiet and when the earth slows down as we go into the darkening days. It’s a natural time for releasing and letting go, this episode is all about sharing with you some of the ways I celebrate Samhain.

There’s some chat about the eclipses that are happening during the Samhain season. This set of eclipses is happening in Scorpio and Taurus, so will have themes relating to those 2 signs.
