EP 16: Interview with Monique Karhiio Wilson

Today’s episode is an interview with Monique Karhiio Wilson founder of Achieving piece of Mind. Monique’s healing work is grounded in Hypnotherapy, how she works with her clients encompasses so much more. She is a Shamanic Practitioner and Indigenous Healer, Monique is in the process of being certified in Somatic Techniques and is incorporating those teachings into her work.

Monique brings so much wisdom to the table, her background is in social justice work. Having worked both in rape crisis work and rehabilitating perpetrators within the prison system. She is a teacher and has hosted many different circles over the years that I have known her, including women’s sharing circles, teaching circles, full moon events, drum crafting weekends and sweat lodges.

I have personally learned so much from Monique, she trained me in many beautiful healing techniques and practices, that have helped build the framework of how I practice my craft.

Our conversation today weaves and winds organically through topics and ideas found in somatic healing and trauma healing including….

  • the power of our words
  • how we can use our self-talk as a healing spell
  • honouring all of our emotions
  • examining how our bodies want to express our emotions

We didn’t even get a change to chat about her newest circle. I am super excited to attend, it’s a Women’s Story Telling Circle, you can find the details on her FB page. I did keep the recorder running so you will get to hear the continuation of our conversation in another episode.

The best way to reach Monique is through her email or Facebook personal message
